In every heart there is a room, and santuary safe and strong

Disclaimer for "And So It Goes"

Number one, this story is based on the song, "And So It Goes," by Billy Joel. The verses describe different couple's storylines, past and present. And on that note, this story focuses on ALL THREE brothers.

Number two, this story is a continuation, of sorts, of "Lady of My Heart." So, if you haven't read any of my three previous stories, you may want to do that first. "And So It Goes" picks up a few years after where "Lady of My Heart" left off. Since this story focuses on all three brothers, it's written in the third person. It'll just make for easier reading. Also, the story starts in April of 2011, and moves into the future. I've done the math for you, so here's how old everyone is:

Ike Hanson -- 30
Rebecca Hanson -- 30
Kaitlyn Hanson -- 4
Taylor Hanson -- 28
Laura Hanson -- 28
Madeline Hanson -- 8
Zac Hanson -- 25
Amanda Jean Marcetti -- 26
Jessica Hanson -- 22
Avery Hanson -- 20
Mackie Hanson -- 17
Zoe Hanson -- 13

Also, this serves as a reminder, or, just in case you didn't believe me the first time I told you, I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH HANSON IN ANY SUCH WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. Also, I DO NOT have psychic powers, and CANNOT predict the future.

Just another reminder: This story is FICTION, a result of my over-active imagination. I have NO affiliation with The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, People magazine, or the IRS. (I think you get the picture.)

One more thing, just to forewarn you: This story, at times, contains some harsh language. It is, by no means, over-excessive. It's all within the context of the story. Still, you have been warned.

Um, I guess that's it. If you have any questions, email me.

Happy Reading! (And don't forget to sign the guestbook at the bottom of the page, either.)

Karen :-)

"And So It Goes"
Written and performed by Billy Joel (1983)

In every heart there is a room
A sanctuary safe and strong
To heal the wounds from lovers past
Until a new one comes along

I spoke to you in cautious tones
You answered me with no pretense
And still I feel I said too much
My silence is my self defense

And every time I've held a rose
It seems I only felt the thorns
And so it goes, and so it goes
And so will you soon I suppose

But if my silence made you leave
Then that would be my worst mistake
So I will share this room with you
And you can have this heart to break

And this is why my eyes are closed
It's just as well for all I've seen
And so it goes, and so it goes
And you're the only one who knows

So I would choose to be with you
That's if the choice were mine to make
But you can make decisions too
And you can have this heart to break

And so it goes, and so it goes
And you're the only one who knows
