Wedding Songs

Well, now that the story is over, and just because I felt like it, I've posted the lyrics to the couples' wedding songs. It was just a fun way to pass the time.

"Even the Nights Are Better"
Written by J.L. Wallace, Kenneth Bell & Terry Skinner
Performed by Air Supply

I, I was the lonely one
Wondering what went wrong
Why love had gone
And left me lonely

I, I was so confused
Feeling like I just been used
Then you came to me
And my loneliness left me

I used to think I was tied to a heartache
That was the heartbreak, but now that I've found you

Even the nights are better
Now that we're here together
Even the nights are better
Since I've found you

Even the days are brighter
When someone you love's beside ya
Even the nights are better
Since I've found you

You, you knew just what to do
'Cause you had been lonely too
And you showed me how
To ease the pain

And you did more than mend a broken heart
'Cause now you made a fire start
And I, I can see
That you feel the same way

I never dreamed there we someone to hold me
Until you told me, and now that I've found you

Even the nights are better
Now that we're here together
Even the nights are better
Since I've found you

Even the days are brighter
When someone you love's beside ya
Even the nights are better
Since I've found you

"Your Song"
Written by Elton John & Bernie Taupin (1969)
Performed by Elton John

It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside
I'm not one of those, who can easily hide
I don't have much money, but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, but then again no
Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show
I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody, this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses, well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you, that keep it turned on

So excuse me for forgetting, but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is, what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

And you can tell everybody, this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

"Like You"
From the soap opera General Hospital
Written by Maribeth Derry & Adrian Gurvitz (1996)

I've seen stars in the night, too many to count
And days when the sun never went down
I've seen thunder and lightning, and pale silver moons
But I've never seen nothing like you

When you came along you touched my soul
Taught me all the things that I didn't know
And maybe you were sent to me from the angels above
So I would know what it means to love

I've been thousands of miles from the place I call home
Stood at the crossroad, direction unknown
And I've sailed on an ocean, so deep and so blue
But I've never seen nothing like you

No, I've never seen nothing like you

You came along, and you touched my soul
Taught me all the things that I didn't know
And maybe you were sent to me from the angels above
So I would know what it means to love

I've raced with the wind, my head in the clouds
Walked out in the valley, alone in my doubts
And I've stood at the top, inspired by the view
But I've never seen nothing like you

No, I've never seen nothing like you
