breejc: HI guys, looking back now what would you say was your favoritt part about making the new album and the video's? Bree J from PA
y_hanson_live: I: Well, I think the aspects of recording an album, first of all so many things get done.
y_hanson_live: We recorded 17 songs, 13 are on the record, four are not.
y_hanson_live: We recorded a lot of music, it was really just exciting to be in the studio and be creative in that way again.
y_hanson_live: And the video of course was exciting, we always enjoy making videos.
y_hanson_live:We shot in an old abandoned hotel, very moody setting, which fit with the vibe of the song, This Time Around.
y_hanson_live: The most recent video, If Only, we set in the desert, as many of you know, since you've made it number 1, cause you guys rock!
sweetbird_17: what made you guys what to start a family band????
y_hanson_live: Isaac: We didn't particularly think of it as starting a family band. We were constantly singing 50s and 60's covers we knew from listening to them over and over again.
y_hanson_live:We just ended singing them together, singing harmonies, then we were writing songs, and before you knew it, there we were, doing local gigs and writing songs. It was something we were compelled to do.
weathr_nt: Will you be playing some of your older stuff at the concerts this tour?
y_hanson_live: Isaac: Yes we will definitely be doing older stuff along with lots of newer stuff.
y_hanson_live: It'll probably be more new stuff than old, but definitely plenty of stuff from Middle of Nowhere.
kihc_nosnah: Isaac, do you have to drive the tour bus?
y_hanson_live: No! That's illegal!
y_hanson_live: You have to have a special license to drive a tour bus. I wouldn't want to drive a tour bus. It frightens me.
y_hanson_live: I guess on the open highway would be OK, but when you watch these drivers so some things, like parallel part a 50 foot bus, it's pretty amazing.
jigglybob_69: hey issac, so you ever use fender guitars?
y_hanson_live: I: Yes I do use Fender guitars. I use them a good amount on the current record.
y_hanson_live: But I just prefer Les Pauls.
y_hanson_live: And other Gibson guitars.
y_hanson_live: ES 335's and many others.
weissm3: What is your favorite song on your new CD?
y_hanson_live:I: Hmm. Hmm. Hmmm. I'm going to say my favorite song is A Song To Sing.
y_hanson_live: Which is the bonus track on the record.
carpoolmom1: Congratulations on playing The Fillmore tomorrow night. I look foward to an incredible evening. Are you excited to walk the halls where legends have made musical history?
y_hanson_live: I: Yes very excited to play the Fillmore.
y_hanson_live: There is so much history in those walls, it's very exciting to get the opportunity to be a part of that.
y_hanson_live: We really look forward to the show, and it's going to be a lot of fun.

y_hanson_live: I: Oh my! 19 is not an older fan!
y_hanson_live: We love the fans we can get, whether they be 6 or 60, it's good.
y_hanson_live: Any fans we can get is great, and we really appreciate our fans' enthusiasm and constant support.

y_hanson_live: I: LOL! Will I marry you? Good question. Probably not! Only from the fact that I haven't met you before. We should probably meet each other first! But I appreciate the proposal!

y_hanson_live: I: Don't kn ow.
y_hanson_live: Maybe having a party.
y_hanson_live: Maybe just doing nothing. Probably seeing my family, cousins, things like that.
y_hanson_live: Any variety of things!
dudette137: What CD is in your CD player right now?
y_hanson_live: I: Hmmm. Let's see. The last one that we were listening to was a Janis Joplin CD. Cause we were thinking about working up a Janice Joplin song.
y_hanson_live: But we're always listening to people like Cheryl Crow, Lenny Kravitz, Macy Gray, Lauryn Hill, Vertical Horizons, Red Hot Chile Peppers...
kayra_taybear: are you guys gonna release the song "Smile"? I really love that song!!
y_hanson_live: I: It's possible we may release the song Smile.
y_hanson_live: But obviously it's not on the record, so it would be on something else, a soundtrack or something like that.
y_hanson_live: But if you come to shows on tour I'm sure you'll be able to hear it.
pepsi_kitten_2000: Do you actually answer the e-mails that fans send to you? and the mail? If not, why not?
y_hanson_live: I: We do answer email or mail, yes. We can only answer a limited amount of it because we get a lot. But we try and answer as much as we can.
y_hanson_live: But oftentimes because we travel a lot, it can be hard to respond.
djzsdabomb17: How would you compare Mmmbop to This Time Around?
y_hanson_live: I: Those particular songs are very hard to compare they are very different.
y_hanson_live: One is a mid-tempo ballad, is what I'd call This Time Around, and MmmmBop is just an upbeat song.
y_hanson_live: They are not comparable in content either.
y_hanson_live: Dying To Be Alive has more similarities to MmmmBop.
y_hanson_live: I: I listen to country music occasionally. I have to say it's not a style of music that I have listened to a lot.

y_hanson_live: I: We definitely like the Eagles, yeah, they have been obviously incredibly successful. Their Greatest hits record is the most successful record of all time. Great album, great songwriting.

y_hanson_live: T: Me, myself, personally, I have not used NAPSTER. But MP3's and pirated audio have fallen to...friends and people around me use it all the time. So I guess I'm not fully un-guilty.
tayskitten: what inspired you to write "i wish that i was there?"
y_hanson_live: T: The song I Wish That I Was There, is funny, we started writing the song, at first it was about wanting to be away from the person.
y_hanson_live: And we had written a lot of negative songs, and we said we should probably make this one positive.
y_hanson_live: So it wasn't based on personal experience, but we made it about wanting to be in love, instead of wanting to be away from you, which in the end I think made it much better.
Sunny_552: You guys have been everywhere lately..WQW. What is the show in San Francisco tomorrow night going to be?
y_hanson_live: T: We have been all over the place, it's been very cool!
y_hanson_live: The show tomorrow night is a private concert...
y_hanson_live: Actually if any of you don't know, if any of you are a MOE member or a Hanson.net member that's in the Bay area, you are free to contact us and get a ticket to the show.
y_hanson_live: The show is going to be filmed for a couple of different things, it'll be on TV and on an internet broadcast, so it'll be pretty cool.

y_hanson_live: The last time I really, really remember when I cried was when I watched Armageddon last.
y_hanson_live: It's a cheesy thing to say, but it's true.

y_hanson_live: Taylor: I actually took it out for a little while, and I'll probably be putting it back on pretty soon.

y_hanson_live: T: I think the last recent movie I saw that I thought was pretty good was Gladiator.
y_hanson_live: There seems to be a shortage of great movies, but I thought that one lived up to its hype.
y_hanson_live: T: No that is actually not true.
y_hanson_live: Though we have said those songs might end up on other things, there is not a plan to release those recordings right now.

y_hanson_live: Z: Not really. I've gotten very nervous before shows, I felt slightly nervous before performing at the Songwriters Hall of Fame because of all the amazing artists that were there.
