Past thoughts/rants of the moment:

August 1, 2006

GAH.

Lack of updates here is not because of laziness, or that I've abandoned writing or Hanson (though I'm getting close on the latter, ugh). Lack of updates is due to my hostess's provider not resetting my password. See, when Cyndi originally gave me the password to update this site, I typed it in the FTP program and saved it there. So I forgot what it was a long time ago, since I never had to type it in. Then, when I got my new computer a few months ago and re-installed all my programs, I realized I was stuck with no password. And Cyndi doesn't remember what it is, either. So, she has contacted the provider numerous times, asking for a password reset... only to receive no response whatsoever.

So I'm stuck. I've been visiting this site, reading your guestbook entries -- thank you! -- and being frustrated about not being able to update. GAH. (Cyndi is actually loading this for me right now, since she still has the password saved in HER FTP) So, yeah. We're searching for a new hosting provider, but I don't know how long that will take. :(

Anyway, back to my point about writing. As a matter of fact, I've been writing up a storm this month. I've started a new story. Only thing is (and you may not like this), it's not a Hanson story. It's a story about Angel from the X-Men (I am, in fact, an X-Men geek as well). This dude. Oh, man. I've got a thing for guys with wings, for real. Always have.

So, yeah. I'm writing this story because I had an idea that inspired me, which Hanson has not been doing lately (in fact, with the fanfic ban at h.net, I even feel kind of spiteful towards giving them any thought whatsoever right now). I want to finish Anna Begins, though, so don't give up on it yet. And there are some side stories for Catapult I still want to write. Maybe when we get some new music or something, I'll be inspired to finish those. In the meantime, if you want to read my Angel fic, I've got it up over at fanfiction.net. Check it out here. And, you know, Angel is fair and blonde and pretty, so if you want to imagine he's Taylor or something, that doesn't bother me. :) haha.

And here's hoping we get a new host soon... SOON.

Just a quick note to let you all know I'm still around. :) And writing. Chapter seven of Anna Begins will be ready shortly, I think. Plus, I finished my L&E review way back in March. And then I totally forgot to post it here (I'd been posting it on my LiveJournal). Whoops. haha. So I need to gather that together and add it to the site, which I'll do this week.

March 5, 2006

Okay, I've updated Anna Begins with chapter six. Check it out and read. If you dare. haha.

In other news, I have discovered this week, after experiencing some mind-numbing pain in my jaw and mouth, that my wisdom teeth must come out. :( Bah, humbug. This, for lack of a better word, sucks. Oh, well.

I'm on the last day of my L&E review. :) hehe. Finally!

I've decided to write another Catapult short story. Don't know when it will be up, but it's a fun one.

Mild update. I've finally posted all the awards I've won recently, including the Various Artists Awards and Feel What I Dream Awards. You can see all the pretty banners over there under "awards". :)

And, I've added my Valentine's Day fic from Eve's challenge to the site. It's still posted over on Hearts Will Bind You, but it's also archived here now:

Money Well Spent

Now, back to work on Anna Begins and on my long-time-coming L&E tour review. :)

Happy Valentine's Day, if you're into that sort of thing. :) And along that note, go visit the newest Hanson fiction collaboration/challenge by Eve! It's a Valentine's Day-themed project called "Hearts Will Bind You", and I am one of the authors who contributed. :) Here's the link:

Hearts Will Bind You

My story is called "Money Well Spent". Enjoy!

I should have chapter 6 of Anna Begins up soon. It's actually already written, but just needs to be edited before I post. So keep an eye out for that, as well.

Shock! I've started writing on Anna Begins again. And tonight I've updated with chapter five. So, for any of you who started reading it last year when I was working on it, it's back. With a vengeance. :) Head on over to the 'fan fiction' page and check it out.

Someone was kind enough to nominate me for some stuff at the Feel What I Dream awards. So, if you're so inclined, go vote. For me, if you feel like it. ;)

I'm still working on my L&E review. I promise. :) It's so impossibly long. But I'm getting there. Just one more show and then the travels home to write about.

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a fun, safe evening.

This isn't an exciting update or anything, I'm just letting you all know that I've now posted my Christmas story on this site. It's still up over on the Advent Calendar, as well, but I've added it to the 'extras' page here, which can be found over there under 'fan fiction'. :)

And that is all for now. :) haha.

December 24, 2005

Okay, my Christmas story is up and running over at the Hanson Advent Calendar. You can read it here. Hope you enjoy. :) And sign the guestbook! Give all the authors who participated some love. And especially thank Eve for putting it all together. Very cool. I'll be putting that story up here on my own site in a few days, but for now that's the only place it's posted.

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. Be safe.

It's a Catapult Christmas!

That Lily. She's a damn genius. :) Check out the 'artwork' section, I've updated with that picture and another little sketch she did. :)

And what's more, my Catapult-related Christmas story goes up at midnight tonight (which is technically the 24th, ha). So, go check that out, when it's up. I'll put another link up when it's ready. :)

November 30, 2005

In the spirit of the holidays, Eve (mastermind behind the Blue Collar Hanson fiction collection) has collaborated with Krystal to put together the Hanson Advent Calendar 2005. Basically, this is how it goes: there will be 24 Hanfic Christmas stories. One new one per day, starting tomorrow (December 1st) and leading up to Christmas Day. The link is here:

Tales of the Glories: Hanson Advent Calendar 2005

So there you go. A whole load of great stories to look forward to. Check back every day for a new one (assuming that each writer makes her deadline! ha). My story, in case you are wondering, will be the last one -- December 24. Aaaaaaaand... it's gonna be a Taylor/Alley Christmas story. (!)

Enjoy. :)

On a side note, Catapult officially has haters now. LOL. Ah, Hanson Secrets. Maybe I should make a special "I hate Catapult" Yahoo Group for those people to join? That way, they can bash my story without everyone yelling at them. ;)

I'm still working on my Hanson Road Trip review. I promise. Thus far I have about half of it written. If you're really, absolutely itching to read any of it, you can go to my LiveJournal and catch up on the updates I've been doing. But it will eventually be posted here in its complete form.

Oh, and I've finally updated my poor old links page. So many of them were broken, because hansonfiction.com switched servers (and none of the authors are around to move their sites over). So I did the best I could and found webarchive.org links for those stories. Plus, I've added some new links. :)

And lastly, I won a shitload of awards over at the Various Artists Awards 2005. Wow. Like, an embarrassing amount. So, thank you for voting, even if I really don't deserve all those. Stephanie has the winners listed at the VA forums, but she hasn't moved them to the site yet. I'll have lots of pretty new banners to show you all when all that gets done.

I'm back. Oh, God. Where do I even begin?

I'm writing a full-scale review, complete with pictures, but it's going to be extensive and will take me awhile. But until then, I have to show you this:

Me and Taylor in Chicago, chillin' in the coffee shop

And this:

Taylor's autograph... on the mild SEX SCENE of my Taylor/Alley Christmas story for Eve's Hanson Advent Calendar

To answer your unspoken question... no, he did not know what he was signing. :) HAHHAHAHA!

Okay. Must go work on review. :) *giddy*

November 14, 2005

The sexiest thing I've ever seen: Taylor's little hip shake while banging the tambourine during a cover of U2's "Desire". Mmm, mmm.

Been to Cleveland and Cincy. On my way to the Chicago shows tomorrow, armed with my Ale8 shirt and blue-and-white scarf, for those curious. :) Someone told me they wanted to try an Ale8, but I can't remember who...? Maybe she'll recognize me and I can get her one. :)

VA Awards are up. Go and vote for your favorite stories. :)

I just realized that I don't think I ever mentioned The Opus on this site. ?? Sorry, Toona. So I'll pimp it now. If you haven't seen it yet, GO. Right now.

Hear What I Mean

I've got an essay in it, as well. :) But there's plenty of awesome writing, commentary, pictures, artwork, etc. All about the trials and travels of being a crazy Hanson fan. :)

October 13, 2005

One month 'til I'm in the midst of my concert road trip. :)

So I tried to get L&E Limited Edition in stores here in Lexington. No such luck. Apparently they sent, like, ONE copy to this entire city, and a fellow Street Teamer got to it before I did. So I had to order it Tuesday night from Amazon. And it actually came TODAY, but since it wouldn't fit in the mailbox, they dropped it off at the main office. So I can't get to it until tomorrow after work. Ugh! Sheesh. So much trouble. :)

In the meantime... another short side story. I actually started this many months back (some of you might have read it at my LJ or over at the VA Challenge), but last weekend I finally sat myself down and finished it. It's Alley as a little girl, walking downtown with her father. Pointless fluff. :) But fun.

More stuff that's cool as hell. A girl named Emily emailed me and asked permission to translate my story into French so that her French friends could read it. I debated on whether to allow it or not, for many reasons. In the end, my fellow Hanfic authors convinced me to do it, so I gave her the go-ahead as long as it was posted to my webspace. It will probably take her four years just to translate it if she decides to keep it up. :) But in the meantime, she did the table of contents:

Catapult en francais

I have no clue whether the translations are even correct (actually, a friend who does know French told me there are some minor corrections to be made), so I'm not taking any responsibility for that. :) I dunno. I hope not a lot is lost in the translation, but I think some of that is inevitable. Nevertheless, it's going to be up there for any of you who know French people. :) haha.

September 26, 2005

Some minor updates. Some of you may already know about Eve's Blue Collar Challenge, but for those who don't, check it out. Stories by Hanfic's more prolific writers, plus artwork by Lily Fox. It's awesome. I wrote a story for it, 'Next in Line'. :) You can read that story at her site, or read it here at my site. I also wrote a very short Catapult-related side story. Lily proposed a challenge -- write a story where Taylor can't get his tie tied, and Isaac does it for him. She had some other rules but I ignored them. :) Anyway, it's called 'Tying the Knot'. Links:

Want to see something cool as hell? Of course you do.

Catapult, printed and bound

Final statistics:
-Size 10 Georgia Ref font
-0.5 margins on all sides
-355,322 words
-539 pages in Word
-2.6 MB
-1 1/2 black ink cartridges

I read that the average book page (for your standard paperback novel) is about 400 words to a page. Using that as a guide, this story would be roughly 888 pages if it were a real book. Holy fucking shit.

I've found myself being roped into Eve's 'If Hanson Wore Blue Collars' Challenge. I knew I wouldn't be able to take a break. I wrote a short story for it. She's supposed to have the site up sometime next week, so I'll link it when that happens. It sounds really cool, actually. :)

Chapter 72: Wait until tomorrow
Chapter 73: Dangling conversation

Plus, my self-absorbed Author's Note. Hope it was all worth the wait. Any last thoughts? I'd love to hear them.

So, we get another tour. Unbelievable -- do they ever stop to rest? They've been on the road off and on for what, three years now? Hmmm. Well, I'm not complaining, as long as they're still up for it and sounding good. And on that note, I've got tickets for the following four shows: Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Chicago one and two. Can't wait for November. :)

It's almost done. I promise. Just bear with me a little longer...

July 28, 2005

The thought occurred to me today that it's been exactly a year since I started updating again. Like, wow. A year. When I decided to finally finish this story, I thought it would take a few weeks. Then, a few months. Then, I realized I needed to stop trying to predict how long it would take because I fail miserably in all my estimates. And I failed again -- I wanted to have it all done by the end of this month, and it's unfortunately not going to happen. This last part is the longest, hardest thing I've written in a long time. It's about 50 pages thus far, with more to go. There are tons of little things I want to address and loose ends I want tied up. Difficult conversations to write. Trying to find the right balance between the realistic tone the story has taken and the ethereal, supernatural way it began. Sorry it's taking so long -- I know there are many of you who are losing interest or who have already lost it. I know I'm aggravating you, but I'm not doing it on purpose, I promise. I want it to be a good, solid, deserving ending. I hate when Hanfics end suddenly, and you can tell the author ended it just to end it.

So, if you don't believe that I've really been working on it, ask Zeeba or Stephanie. :) I've made them both read part of what I've done so far and gotten some feedback on it.

I'm moving apartments starting tomorrow, which has been nothing but a pain in the ass to prepare for. That's one major reason why I haven't been able to get the story done -- for the past month, I've been taking care of all the shit that comes with moving. Finding a place, signing a lease, reminded the landlords to do all the things they promised, getting bills switched, packing, etc. And so after this weekend, I'll be in a new place. I really can't wait. The new apartment is 110% nicer than where we are now.

Last note, thanks to all who voted at the Reckless Abandon Awards... I won several awards, so thanks. Including 'Best Sex'! Woo! hehe. I've added all the banners to the Awards page, if you want to see.

Song of the moment: "You Can Leave Your Hat On" by Joe Cocker

July 5, 2005

So, I've been nominated for a bunch of stuff over at the Reckless Abandon Awards. Well, maybe I should clarify. I whined because I've never won any Hanfic awards (except Monica's, which wasn't done by voting, that was her personal thing to give), and so some girls felt sorry for me and nominated Catapult for several things. So, thanks, although I really don't deserve the nominations because they were coerced.

Side note, Zeeba nominated my Catapult side story, "The First Time", in the Best Sex category. HA! That's great. Yeah, so vote for that, if you feel so inclined. I'm proud of my smut.

I'm well into chapter 72, and I have about half the epilogue written. They'll both be posted at once to end the story. I'm hoping I can have everything done by the end of this month.

Got the urge, and so I went with it. Here's another short side story for Catapult, called Gamble Everything for Love.

Still working on 72. It's a long one, baby.

June 4, 2005

So, yeah. This week, which should have been a nice, normal relaxing one for me, was ruined by some girl who thought she'd be cute and rip off some stories and content from some very well-known Hanson fiction writers, including myself, Lily Fox, Rachael, and Kaylee. And that's the just the ones we know about.

Anyway, we can all breathe easy now, because her sites have been removed, her 'readers' know that she's a fraud, and I've had all the stolen stuff taken down from the Mcfly bulletin boards. Because, get this -- she had the nerve to post some of the stories there, too. Including Catapult, which she claimed was 'already done' and she was posting 'a little at a time'. Yeah, okay. What the hell would you have done if I'd disappeared again and never finished the story, honey? Whatever.

So, yeah, I've added a disclaimer to the site because of this, reminding everyone that A) I don't know Hanson, and B) if you steal something, you will die. Just a friendly reminder.

And thank you a thousand times over for all the people who emailed her, signed her guestbook, and spread the word about this. If I was Marly, I would have been terrified. I had no idea that many people cared about Taylor and Alley the same way I do, but it was heartening to see. So thankyouthankyouthankyou. We got her shut down. : )

May 26, 2005

Back from Mayfest... with a semi-coherent recap, right here.

May 10, 2005

On my way to Panama City Beach tomorrow for a few days of relaxation, laziness, and maybe, just maybe, a little bit of writing. I can't wait...

Damn, I wish I was going to Mayfest. Damn, why the hell am I going to Mayfest?!?

April 21, 2005

Well, congratulations are in order for Taylor and his wife. Man, it seems like there's all sorts of Hanson craziness this week. On a random side note, I'm SO glad it's a girl. I just love little daddy's girls (used to be one myself). AND she's an Aries, like me! Look out, Taylor. Your little girl is going to be a handful...

But, anyway. I've finally got 71 done, and it only took, what, two and a half months? Though I had some nice distractions during that time (read: smut, Opus, and mock-up Street Team flyers). Plus, it's 24 pages, which I believe is the longest chapter to date. Damn. So anyway, there's going to be one more chapter, and then an epilogue, and then it's done. I can't believe it.

I'm going to Florida next month to chill, write, and hang out with some cool fellow Hanfic chicks... should be fun. And God, I need to get out of this town for awhile. Everything and everyone is driving me crazy.

Don't really have much else to say... damn, I wish I was going to Mayfest.

Guestbook? ;)

March 10, 2005

I'm not quite sure what to say about this, other than I don't really know what got into me. But I had the urge, so I wrote this 'extra' scene for Catapult that takes place directly after chapter 67. It's not part of the story, it's just a side story... so I don't know where I'm going to put it just yet. But for now, you can read it HERE. Rated R, by the way. I take no responsibility for anyone who is offended...

February 26, 2005

Lots of site-related updates going on. I've finally updated my links page with several new stories (and some non-hanfic sites), fixed the 'soundtrack' page to reflect all the new and rewritten chapters, and updated the artwork with a colored version of Taylor and Chester (done by Krystal).

Plus, I've finally moved my new story, 'Anna Begins', over to this site. It's an Ike story, and you can find it under fan fiction. I doubt it will get any substantial updates until Catapult is over, however, but at least it's finally up for your viewing pleasure (or pain, whatever the case may be).

I'm working on getting my 'Long Lost Twins' page back up and running. I have several of the pages ready, but I won't officially post it back up until they're all done.

Remember, the guestbook loves to see new visitors. ;)

February 7, 2005

Alright, chapter 70, which ended up much longer than I had expected, is up. We're in the home stretch, people. There will be 72 chapters, plus an epilogue, and then it's done. I can't believe it. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

To keep myself out of a post-partum Catapult depression for when this story ends, for those of you who don't know, I've started another story, which I've been working on over at the VA Challenge. It's an Isaac story, for those curious. It will eventually get posted up here, though I haven't decided how I'm going to divide it into chapters yet. But it's coming along quite well, and I enjoy it, since it's a different style/POV than Catapult. Although it features some of the same characters...

Alright, anyway. 71 and 72 will be much more interesting. Sorry to keep you waiting.

Rewrites are up. Go check them out... all of the chapters have been put back up.

January 4, 2005

Hope everyone had a great New Year. I've sent the rough copy of the rewrites to Zeeba, and now I just wait for her comments before I edit and post. It's been a hell of a lot of work getting those together. In the meantime, I've started a new Hanfic for the Various Artists Hanfic Challenge. Not to worry, I'm still working on Catapult, obviously, but I'm adding about 300 words a day to this new story, just a little bit at a time. So far it's coming out quite well. It's nice to write a different character and POV for a change. Anyway, to check out my new story and lots of other new fics, click on the picture below and go to to the "va_challenge" link at the top. My LJ username is silveripseity, by the way.

December 29, 2004

I should have all the major rewrites (chapters 7-14) up very, very soon. I've been doing them all at once, because there's a lot of rearranging going on... have patience. :) In the meantime:

That's right! A new Hanfic Challenge! C'mon, people, you know you want to. Just click on the pic above to get more information... and send all your questions to Stephanie at proseinmypocket@yahoo.com -- she's the mastermind behind this project. GET UP AND WRITE!

December 5, 2004

New Chapter 6 is up. Am working on Chapter 69 (get your minds out of the gutter), do not despair. Chapter 7 is already well under way, too. Damn, I am good.

On a different note, go check out Jennifer Chadd's music... She has a lovely voice. I especially like 'Falling'.

Song of the moment: "Falling" by Jennifer Chadd

November 28, 2004

The newly rewritten Chapter 5 is up. It's much better. And sort of trippy. hehe. You might notice some lines of dialogue marked with an asterisk -- those are lines that have been borrowed from Alice in Wonderland (both the movie script and the book).

There's also a new little short story up, called 'After the Show'. It was a vignette I wrote for Lily Fox for her birthday, sort of a 'thank you' for doing the Catapult illustrations. If you're interested in reading, it's under 'fan fiction'.

November 21, 2004

Despite having watched the TV show maybe twice in my life, I had this odd urge to go watch the Spongebob Squarepants movie. So I managed to convince my friends to go see it tonight... and damn. What a funny fucking movie. Hehe. 'Hooray!' Two thumbs up here.

Enough yammering. Chapter 68 of Catapult is up. Go and check it out. And don't throttle me, I no longer have control of these characters. Seriously. They don't do what I ask them to. Anyway...

Song of the moment: "Last stop, this town" by the Eels

November 14, 2004

There's a brand new Chapter 4. It's from Taylor's point of view, and kind of depressing, to be honest. Anyway. I've started on 68. Don't know when it'll be up yet, but it's coming along pretty quickly. Everyone thank Krystal for hauling me all over Louisville to stake out potential story settings. : )  She's cool as hell. And very patient. ; )

And, after you're done here, run on over to In Retrospect and tell Morgan how much you love her for finally updating!

November 7, 2004

More rewrites for Catapult. Actually, chapter 2 is from Taylor's POV -- it's brand-new, so it can't really be classified as a rewrite. Anyway. They're much better. So check out the new Chapter 2 and Chapter 3.  I'm going to be redoing the first ten chapters, roughly. I may go through the rest of the story and add some things here and there, also, just for clarity and detail, but the major rewrites will be at the beginning.

Also, keep in mind that as I'm rewriting, there are some things, particularly in these early chapters, that may contradict the new stuff. I will fix that as I go along, so bear with me and just ignore it. :)

I've changed some of the questions in the guestbook. However, when I did this, I did not realize that it would automatically go back and change the questions for people who have already signed it... so I was really sort of amused when I looked in it and saw how the old answers match up to the new questions. For instance, there was one question that used to be, "Do you prefer short fiction or long?" (most people answered 'long') Now, that question is "Isaac is: ________" So how hilarious is it that it looks like most people answered 'long' to that? HAHA! I know. I'm so juvenile.

I'm researching for chapter 68, so that's why it's taking awhile (thanks, krystal! hehe). So in the meantime, enjoy the rewrites.

And go to Various Artists and check out the message boards... starting some nice Hanfic discussions over there, come and join. :)

October 29, 2004

And now finally, at 2AM, I'm posting chapter 67. I'm a little delirious right now from lack of sleep, I must apologize. Go, read, and enjoy. And by the way, if you don't see the chapter listed on the page, you might want to refresh it. That happens to me quite a bit.

I'm so fond of these two. The story practically writes itself when they're together...

Rewrites for the beginning are going well. Chapter 2 is brand new. It's from Taylor's POV. Chapter 3 is already done. Those may go up next week.

Must. Get. Sleep.

October 24, 2004

A quick little note to update you all... I know I said I was going to wait until the story was over to do this, but I couldn't wait. I am unreliable and unpredictable when it comes to these things. Just ask Zeeba, haha.

But anyway, I got some brilliant ideas at work last week so I went ahead and started rewriting the beginning of the story. I like what I've done so far, like, 746 times better than what I had before. Especially the new prologue -- I'm just inordinately fond of it. I'm still working on 67, don't worry... but until that's done, you can check out the newly reborn Prologue and Chapter 1. Let me know what you think!

Song of the moment: "Pinball Wizard" by The Who

October 19, 2004

Some updates here... I've compiled all Lily's heartbreakingly beautiful artwork onto one page -- check it out, under "the artwork" (original, huh?). Some of the pictures will also be added to the appropriate chapter. Like the Taylor and Chester picture is in chapter 28. And the Taylor/Alley sleeping picture is now with chapter 66, which I just put up. :)

This chapter is one of my favorites out of the whole story, I think. I dunno, they're just so cute to write together. And for the record, since I've had so many people asking and commenting about it, the story is not quite over yet. There are 3-4 chapters left. I don't like wham-bam endings. I like to wind things down and tie up loose ends. So there you have it, from the horse's mouth...

And on that same note, no, I am not doing a traditional sequel. By sequel, I mean another long, drawn-out story. Really, I don't think there's much more to say, so anything else would be fluff. To try and make another huge story out of it would be overkill.

However, fluff can be fun. Which is why I've decided I'll probably write 'companion' pieces, just for fun, to go along with the story. These will be sort of like short stories. It's just an excuse to tell something that was never shown in the context of the story itself -- like telling something from Louise's point of view, or Zac's... stuff that really doesn't affect the story in any way, but might be fun to see. So, if you have any specific ideas of what you want to see written, let me know.

And also, I'm going to rewrite the first few chapters. I hate them. HATE them. And judging from some of the comments I've read about them, you all agree that they're not the best. I've already decided how I'm going to do it... but I probably won't get to it until the whole story is over. They aren't going to be drastically changed, they're just going to be rewritten in a style that's more consistent with how I write nowadays. Remember, I started this thing over three years ago...

Ah, I'll shut up now. Go read 66... and let me know what you think. :)

Oh, and before I go, check out Various Artists! Yay Krystal and Stephanie! The fanfic lives! LOL. it's the greatest hanfic link listing on the net. I'm glad to see it up and running again.

October 10, 2004

I'm baaaaaack! And, as promised, with an update. I'm really too tired to say anything else, other than go read it. And enjoy. Ooooh, enjoy. :D

AND... presenting, the first-ever picture of Alley and Taylor, courtesy of Lily, who kicks MUCH ass. I love it. I adore it. I feel like a proud mother or something. *squeals*

And to see the second-ever picture, ALSO from Lily, you have to go read... hehe. Spoilers and all. Eventually I'll put this stuff up in a better way, but as I said... too tired. :)

I am going to start updating my livejournal again (shock of all shocks), so if any of you guys want to add me, or have me add you to my friends list, go right ahead. It's over there under "Rants and Raves".

Song of the moment: "Minnesoter" by the Dandy Warhols

October 7, 2004

I'm off to Florida in approximately 15 minutes, for those of you who didn't already know. :) Chapter 65 is scheduled to go up Sunday night, when I get back, if I'm not too tired. Have a great weekend. And forget about bribing Cyndi or Zeeba, 'cause they're sworn to secrecy. ;)

And for those of you who haven't seen it, you simply must go to Lily's site and see her art. Unbelievable. I adore it. :)

Song of the moment: "Monkey" by Counting Crows

September 28, 2004

Do you realize that in three days, on October 1, this site will officially be three years old? Yeesh! I can't believe it. It seems a lifetime since I've started.

I finally have my "rants & raves" section up. Hey, Zeeba, remember that review of ROTK I was supposed to post, like, 10 months ago? You asked me about it once. Hehe. Well, I thought I had lost it, but I found it the other day so I'm posting it now. It was written in January, FYI, so it's a little behind. But hey, better late than never, eh?

The most recent chapter ended up becoming a mammoth, so I cut it in half and made it into two chapters, 64 and 65. It makes more sense anyway, when I think about it, since so much happens and the tone kind of changes -- they needed to be separate. So anyway, I've gone ahead and put 64 up. 65 is well under way, though I'm not sure when it'll be done. I'm working quite hard on getting it just right.

Song of the moment: "Philosophy" by Ben Folds

September 23, 2004

So... slowly but surely the site is going up. I have now moved all my fan fiction over, most of the original stuff, the soundtrack, the biography page, and my NEW links page. I'm working on getting the "long lost twins" thing moved over right now.

So, the story of my life: today, at my new job, the vice president of the advertising department offers to take me out to eat to welcome me. Of course he would choose the day where I looked like a weirdo. I need a haircut, and so the front layer of my hair curls all funny now and won't lay flat. When I was getting ready this morning, I put a clip in it, to pin it back, but that just made it worse. I had this little lock of hair that just stuck straight out, like a sideways cowlick or something. Eventually I gave up and just went on to work looking ridiculous. And so then this VIP wants to talk to me. Figures. He probably thought I was an idiot.

On a different note, thank you all for signing the guestbook... I love reading your often unusual responses. hehe! Especially the Simpsons quotes... I went through not too long ago to see what everyone had written and I was cracking up. I remember all of them in their respective episodes! haha.

Well, I've finished 63. It's not nearly as long as the previous two chapters were, but then it's more normal than they were. ; ) Sometimes I get really amazed at how long this story has gotten. I'm estimating that it's something like 200 pages in Word (probably longer). When my computer crashed awhile back I lost the first "half" of the story, so I can't remember the exact number of pages. But basically, it's a novel. I can't believe I've stuck with it.

But anyway... go read !!!

September 17, 2004

Ladies and gentlemen, we have takeoff.

Finally, finally, I am moved into my new home. Off of Geocities and its stupid banner ads and irritating data transfer messages. I can actually say I have a real site now.

You may notice things look a bit different. A lot different, actually. I've changed the title of the site to simply "Imagine". Why? Because "Make Room for the Prey" was completely irrelevant to the old site and it was too long to type out (I'm lazy). Plus Cyndi, my new host, asked me to pick a new name, and I froze like a deer in the headlights and "imagine" was the first thing that popped into my mind. Hehe. Besides, change is good.

Now, this probably ain't too pretty, but like I've said before, I'm an idiot with html so the fact that I've got anything up is pretty amazing. Plus, I've gone crazy with the whole black-and-white motif. It may send some of you into epileptic seizures, and for that, I apologize. But I dig it. Plus, it was a good excuse for me to break out all the photos from my black-and-white photography class. Heh. I had way too much fun in that class. Expensive, but fun.

Anyway, most of the pages here have black backgrounds with white text, but you'll notice the writing is on white backgrounds with black text. I just figured that would be easier to read. And besides, we did the stories first, and we did them with white backgrounds, and I'm not about to go back and change the color scheme on every damn chapter of Catapult. I'd be gray-haired by the time I got all that done. : )

Not everything is up and running yet. So far, I have the 'fan fiction' main page up, but the only link that works so far is 'Catapult' (and really, that's all you people care about anyway ;) ). The 'Soundtrack' page is up, and has been revamped. I'm currently working on getting the rest of the fan fiction stories linked up, and on the 'me' page (which I think is self-explanatory). The rest of it will eventually be moved.

And yes, you little hormone-driven kids, I am working on the next chapter of the story. So be nice and sign my guestbook, or drop me a line, or something. I have a new email! ella@together-alone.net. Isn't that easier to type? :D

Chapter 63 is coming soon... patience is a virtue.
