it's taken a while to find the distance to look back on this site, what was my little corner of the internet for a good four and a half years. a lot can change in four and half years.
i don't have anything particularly profound to say – this is most certainly not the way i envisioned my exit from the world of hanfic to be. it's quiet where i expected at least a few trumpets, a whimper rather than a gasp. but i guess that's the way the whole fandom has gone, reduced to a few ripples on the water, where once cannon balls fell.
over the last few months i've been getting a steady trickle of emails, from people whom i was lucky enough to share a readership with, asking if my stories were still up, they'd love to read them again. i must say i was shocked getting the first one after months of silence, but more have found their way to my inbox, and i figured it was about time i pulled my nose out of my bookshelf and tied up these loose ends. i've been meaning to archive my stories ever since i saw aspen had done the same with 'devil angel', but i just never got around to it. well, no more excuses, here it is.
i'm still around, although i don't write even a quarter of what i used to. in the name of hanfic i wrote more stories than i ever had before in my life, and even though the engines ran out of steam quite a while ago now, i still have an incredible backlogue that helped me grow and develop as a writer. at the moment i've got my fingers in several projects, mainly collaborative, but hopefully one day i'll recover enough from the gauntlet of a university writing degree to pick up a pen for the sheer joy of its weight in my hand, and write something that one day someone will pick up and think 'hey, i remember her'.
part of being a good writer i've learned, is not to be ashamed of where you came from. so rather than rot in some forgotten folder, the history's coming out on display. this site will no longer be regularly updated, it's an archive. if you're interested in catching up with what i've been doing in the last two years, look here, check out my lj, or drop me a line.
thank you to everyone who's ever read my work. without you i'm nothing.
