The Show Must Go On
oooh ma oooh pa
does the show have to go on?
oooh pa take me home
oooh ma let me go
do i have to stand up
wild eyed in the spotlight?
what a nightmare why
don't i turn and run
there must be some mistake
i didn't mean to let them
take away my soul
am i too old? is it too late?
oooh ma oooh pa
where has the feeling gone?
oooh ma oooh pa
will i remember the songs?
the show must go on

Zac's numbness resides and is taken place by a raging fever. Tay's sitting beside Zac when he starts babbling about their mother and father and not wanting to go on.
Somehow Taylor (who finds out from a guard? Cortnée? a subversive? that his brother is ill) manages to break Zac's fever with a combination of cool compresses, words and aspirin – almost non-existent these days with all the wars – that he finds in the infirmary cupboards. Zac's fever breaks that night, and he can't remember anything of what happened, not even that his counsellor was Pink. Tay later finds out Pink's plan from Cortnée – who pointedly tells Tay to tell him nothing about any subversive plans, so Pink won't find out – and he and Zac plot something or other, which involves Isaac organising an uprising amongst the people. But when The Company's first performance comes up, Pink's post-hypnotic suggestion kicks in with the entire first division, and Zac can't help himself.

Cortnée = 26; Isaac = 21; Taylor = 18; Zac = 16
